You don’t have to be “Religious” to have a gracious, compassionate and grateful heart. I have known people that were not religious at all that lived their life full of compassion, graciousness and love for others WITHOUT the religiosity. I also have known a few so-called “Religious” people that were/are real scumbags, assholes to put it bluntly.
From my own experience I have found that the “Good People” religious or not, far outnumber those that show a lack of compassion and charity towards others. It’s a shame that some of those few assholes never change, they never accept the potential of what positive changes can mean in their life, and in the lives of others around them, living until a ripe old age, and with their last dying breath, remaining an asshole.
The inspiration for this short essay, and why I mention religion is because our little community was out of power for two days and some of the comments on farcecrap were hostile, negative, and lacked common sense. My guess is that a few of those negative comments were made by so-called, “Religious” folks, (by assholes), and perhaps a few non-religious types as well, (also assholes). Yes, the assholes inspired me.
98% of the comments were positive, filled with gratitude. This entire essay was inspired by the negative and positive reactions to our two-day power outage. I’m grateful for the line workers who worked 24/7 to restore our electricity. I’m grateful for the Unisource employee that stopped by yesterday for a “Wellness Check” and gave me several bags of ice. I’m not religious, and I feel the same gratefulness for the line workers as a majority of those religious folks do.
If you ARE a religious person and you feel the same gratefulness, it’s okay to thank your God, whomever He/She may be. If you are religious, or not, and you were one of those few that had to express negative bullshit regarding the power outage, you CAN change and become a grateful, compassionate and caring person, trust me. Contact me, I might be able to help you if your “Heart” is willing to accept changes.
