Have you ever gone to bed stoned and can’t get to sleep because of the music you are hearing. A cross or somewhere in between “Only Women Bleed” by Alice Cooper, some old time country song by Mel Tillis, and a High School Marching Band.
Now it’s 2:30 AM, i.e., night time, on a Sunday morning. You have actually heard the marching band before on Friday nights for the home games, and other nights when the band practices. With the bedroom window open, tonight your mind is playing around with you. There REALLY is a high school football field about 2 miles away that you REALLY have heard during games. You not only hear the school marching band, but you can hear the kids cheering and yelling. The loudest sound are the drums.
Usually at night, with the bedroom window open, or when you are sitting on the patio sober, you can also hear the train when it goes by, tooting it’s horn every couple of miles. And sometimes, mostly during the day when you are trying to take a nap, you can hear those Yippity Yappity little neighborhood dogs.
You sit up in bed, and discover as you are removing your BIPAP mask from your face, that it was the sound of your breathing with your machine, and the fan at the foot of your bed. Maybe Alice Cooper just stopped singing as you took your mask off? The band has stopped, but I can still hear the quiet whirring of the fan blade. I think, as long as I am awake, I better write this down on my handy-dandy little Samsung writing tablet. It’s now 4:30 in the morning. I have some SPAM in the cupboard, maybe I’ll have breakfast!
We sometimes think it is hopeless and against all odds, but hey, we are part of the 99% against the 1% that currently have absolute control. We can and shall overcome the odds, but only if we truly ORGANIZE. Otherwise, we are all just as a “Single Fly, Farting in the Wind”. Some immediate needs. On a volunteer basis for now, we need a WEBMASTER who can work on the ITAD-NAO website, we need a person skilled in “Crowd-Funding” and “Director of Charitable Giving”, we need an attorney to help in the legal matters for ITAD_NAO, including setting us up as a tax-exempt “Church”, we need a Certified CPA to insure the financial integrity of the ITAD-NAO organization, we need a “Chief of Security”, we need a film-maker, first for YouTube, eventually for larger platforms, plus a few other positions. We believe that somewhere down the road, a Billionaire will step up to the plate and write a check for $50 Million or so, which will turn those volunteer positions into paid positions.
