Will you shut the fuck up?
I was one hour, fifteen minutes, and forty-seven seconds into this very watchable one hour, thirty-one minute and fifty-eight second “Mafia” movie released in 2024 titled, JERSEY BRED when that line WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP! came up in the movie.
I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes! The scene was when the older Mafia dude (Uncle Gino?) was talking to his nephew Vincent Napolitano from a pay phone at a train or bus station.
As the camera panned out, we can see a dude sitting on the bench playing the guitar. I THINK it was an Italian song rather than a Mexican song.
At the moment the Mafia dude on the pay phone said, WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP! I realized that this song had been playing in the background for at least two or three previous scenes! Hahahaha! Great screenwriting!
That guitar-picking song was softly playing for at least five minutes of previous scenes as they played out.
NOW the older Mafia dude, (Uncle Gino?) who’s having a bad-hair day, and he’s trying to hear what Vincent is telling him on the phone yells, WILL YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP?
The softly played guitar music that I had been listening to for at least six minutes and previous scenes suddenly stopped! Hahaha!
That’s when I paused the movie and decided to write one of my famous film reviews, which while I’m speaking about that, JERSEY BRED is awarded five out of five Unknown Sock Puppet Awards (similar to an Oscar, only better)…..For directing, screenplay, acting, cinematography, and dialogue. Postscript: Ignore the title of this movie as it was posted on YouTube. The real title is JERSEY BRED.
I don’t know why these types of channels use fake titles when they post them. Maybe to avoid a lawsuit?
It made it hard to figure out what the real title was, because I always like to goggle the titles to read the various websites, especially the descriptions and comments.
I probably watch 20% of the movies that pop up on a YouTube search.
Postscript Too: OMG! The scene at one hour twenty-three minutes and thirty-nine seconds was not expected. Again, great screenplay.
Postscript Also: although the ending sucked, I understood why it had to end the way it did.
